Montgomery Rotary Spruces Up School for First Day

Rotarians clean up the landscaping at Krug Elementary before school starts.

The Montgomery Rotary Club helped clean up the exterior grounds of Krug Elementary. The Club cleaned up outdoor beds, spread mulch, trimmed and cleared weeds and brush. The service project was in cooperation with school staff and was directed by their leadership to ensure the school looked remarkable for the first day.

The event took place from 12pm until 3pm on Friday, August 19th and approximately 10 volunteers assisted with the improvements. The time and energy provided by the volunteers saved the school district approximately 30 hours of labor costs.

The Montgomery Rotary Club meets on the first and third Thursdays from 7am to 8am. Morning meetings are held at Riverview Diner, Route 25 and Mill Road, Montgomery. In addition, the club also meets for an evening social and networking hour on the fourth Thursday of the month from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. The evening meetings are held at Montgomery Village Hall, 200 N River Street, Montgomery.
