Oswego, Bristol-Kendall Firefighters Rescue Trapped Boater

Moving ice trapped a duck hunter Friday morning on the Fox River.

Oswego firefighters, with help from Bristol-Kendall Fire Protection District, rescued a man who became stranded on the Fox River Friday morning.

Battalion Chief Josh Walters said the man, a duck hunter, told officials he had gone out onto the river near the Hide-A-Way Lakes Campground to put out decoys at around 5 a.m. Friday when the ice shifted, making it impossible for him to move his boat.

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene after a call came in at around 8:50 a.m.
