OEHS parents were notified last week via a letter from District 308 Superintendent Dr. Matthew Wendt.
“The resignation is effective January 5 and the Board of Education will be asked to approve the resignation on January 12,” Wendt wrote. “I regret this personnel matter, but I wanted you to be informed as soon as possible and directly from me.”

District 308’s winter break began Monday, and ends Jan. 5, 2015.
In his letter to parents, Wendt said the district will post an interim principal position, which will be filled in mid-January.
“We anticipate the interim principal will serve through June 30,” Wendt wrote. “A new head principal will be selected for the 2015-16 school year.”
Martens was hired after the resignation of Dr. Louis Lee, who also served as OEHS principal for less than a year before resigning to accept a position as assistant superintendent at Indian Prairie School District 204.
Prior to Lee, Jeff Craig served as OEHS’ principal. Craig was hired in 2008 and resigned in 2013, going on to become superintendent of West Aurora School District 129.
