20-year-old found in unincorporated Aurora hotel room on Saturday.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s office on Monday said the death of a 20-year-old Plainfield woman found unresponsive in an unincorporated Aurora hotel room remains under investigation by police and the Kane County Coroner’s Office.

Karly L. Jackson was found after police responded to the Council Courts Motel, 1016 Route 30, at 7:16 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Sheriff’s police on Monday declined to release additional information on the investigation, but called Jackson’s death an “isolated incident,” saying there is no threat to the public. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.

On Monday, friend Ashley Benuska launched an online fundraiser for Jackson’s family.

“Karly was a beautiful girl inside and out who was taken from this world way too soon,” Benuska posted on the YouCaring page. “Please help the family by donating to cover some funeral expenses. A parent should never bury their child.”

Jackson is listed on the roster for the Lewis University Flyers’ 2013 womens softball team, which notes that the former Plainfield Central student was a three-year varsity basketball player and two-time All-Suburban Prairie Conference softball selection.

“(Jackson) helped Plainfield Central to the Suburban Prairie Conference championship as a sophomore and regional and sectional titles as a senior... (and was a ) member of the Wildcat Athletic Leadership Club and Honor Roll student,” according to the site.
