"Play It Again, Sam" In Rehearsals at Wheaton Drama

Led by director Randall Knott, the cast of Woody Allen's "Play It Again, Sam" is in rehearsal preparing for opening night on September 18th.

The comedic play follows Allan Felix, a neurotic movie critic and writer, as he delves into the dating world after being left by his wife. From the talented cast of actors, we see characters brought to life, some in the blink of an eye. Actors move in and out of scenes, some based in reality, others in dream. We are even reunited with a familiar face who goes by the name of “Bogey”.

Though early in the rehearsal process, the cast is already giving nuanced character portrayal and exquisite comedic timing. In collaboration with assistant director Andy Dameron, production manager Stan Austin, and stage manager Amy Johnson, the entire production crew is pulling together to create what is sure to be an uproarious affair.

“Play It Again, Sam” will run September 18 through October 11, with shows on Thursdays/Fridays/Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 3pm. All performances will take place at Wheaton Drama’s Playhouse 111, located at 111 N. Hale Street in downtown Wheaton. For tickets, call 630-260-1820 or visit www.wheatondrama.org.
