Police Conduct K-9 Sweeps at Oswego, Oswego East High Schools
Contraband seized from vehicles; one arrested.

A 17-year-old girl was arrested and contraband was found in six vehicles following K-9 searches at both Oswego and Oswego East high schools Thursday, police said.
At the request of District 308, police conducted the searches Thursday morning with the assistance of K-9 units from the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department, Illinois State Police Department, Kendall County Sheriff’s Department, Minooka Police Department and Morris Police Department.
The operation resulted in several vehicles being searched, police said, with contraband found in six vehicles — three at each school.

A 17-year-old girl was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than 2.5 grams of cannabis, police said, and a pending investigation could result in more additional arrests.
“Oswego Police are committed to working with School District 308 in proactive efforts aimed towards providing a safe, drug free environment for students,” police said in a statement Thursday.
