School District 308 Could Spend Millions to Improve Student Tech
The school board is considering 3 possible plans that would put Wi-Fi in classrooms and give students laptops.
Oswego’s Community Unit School District 308 could spend millions of dollars by this fall to beef up the technology its students, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
The cost of the three plans the district’s school board is considering range from $36.3 million to $44.7 million, the report stated. Improvements would include Wi-Fi in all classrooms and Google Chromebooks for all students in third grade and higher, the report added.
These tech enhancements are part of the district’s emphasis on mixing traditional and online teaching methods, as well as ensuring it can administered online standardized tests in classrooms and not computer labs, the report stated.
