On Tuesday, authorities received information that Lipsey might be staying with his wife in the 500 block of East Broad Street, Newark.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s SWAT team searched the residence on a warrant due to Lipsey’s alleged violent history toward police.

SWAT officers found Lipsey hiding inside the residence in a secret room. He was taken into custody without incident, the Kendall County Sheriff said.

As the investigation continued, authorities learned that the fugitive’s wife, Raissa Jarosz Lipsey, also 40, may have aided harboring her husband from justice.

She, too, was charged with obstructing justice, concealing or aiding a fugitive, both Class 4 felonies, and a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct/filing a false police report.

“The tenacity of the detectives assigned to capture the fugitive led to a safe and peaceful apprehension,” Kendall County Sheriff Dwight Baird said in a written statement.

Jarosz-Lipsey’s bail was set at $500,000, with ten percent to apply, and remains in custody at the Kendall County Jail, along with her husband, who is being held without bond.
