Teacher from Oswego Arrested on Sex Assault and Child Porn Charges
The fire sciences teacher began a sexual relationship with a student, police said, but her mom found his phone messages.

A mom found inappropriate text messages on her 17-year-old daughter’s phone from one her teachers, and now the Oswego man faces several charges of criminal sexual assault and child pornography.
Glen C. Baum, 42, of the 5000 block of Heritage Drive, taught a fire science class at Kaneland School District 302, where he struck up a relationship with one of his students, according to police, which turned sexual between May and January. Baum was arrested Wednesday evening at his home by Oswego police and Kane County sheriff’s deputies.
He appeared in court Thursday, where bail was set at $250,000 on a combined 11 felony counts.
