Youth Musical Theatre 1 Basic Skills and Audition Technique GRADES 2-8
This class is for anyone interested in learning or improving musical theatre skills. Participants in this group will learn the basics of singing, dancing, and acting for musical theatre. Emphasis will be on auditioning and creating a character. Students will build confidence and develop many skills including teamwork and creative thinking.

-Everyone participates in every class
-All levels of experience welcome
-No auditions or experience necessary

Founder Tracy Whiteside specializes in coaching children and teens, and has been training and directing young actors for over 15 years. A photographer, modeling coach, director and performing arts teacher, Tracy has been in the entertainment and fashion business for over 30 years. She has directed over 50 youth musicals, and taught performing arts at Elgin College and Christian Youth Theatre. As a Board Member of First Street Playhouse, she directed and produced plays at the theatre.

Self-Esteem for Life Foundation (SELF) is 501 C 3 non-profit organization dedicated to building self-esteem among young people through the performing arts. Youth grades 2-college have the opportunity to create a theatre production, and can audition for singing, acting and/or dancing roles. Those not interested in performing can work backstage, on sets, costumes, lighting, sound, and more.
