Twenty-Eight Montgomery Residents Finish Chicago Marathon
Sunday's 26.2-mile trek brought out more than 35,000 runners, and 28 of them from Montgomery crossed the finish line.

It takes a special kind of person to run 26.2 miles in the blistering heat. As it turns out, we have 28 of those people here in Montgomery, all of whom crossed the finish line during the 2011 Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday.
45,000 people signed up for the race, but 35,558 of them finished. Kenyan runner Moses Mosop won the marathon, setting a course record of two hours, five minutes and 37 seconds. Winning on the women's side was Russian Liliya Shobukhova, who became the first to win a third straight Chicago Marathon title.
