Yorkville Man Dies After Rolling Over a Stolen Truck During Police Chase

The truck was stolen from the Rosati's Pizza on Route 47.

A Yorkville man speeding from police was killed Monday when the stolen pickup truck he was driving rolled over onto railroad tracks near the village of Waterman, according to the DeKalb County sheriff’s department.

Someone reported to police that cargo — buckets and chimney-cleaning tools — was falling out of the back of a 2008 Chevy Silverado. Hinckley police began a pursuit and Brian Nord, 35, sped away, then lost control of the truck, police said. Nord was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the truck was reported stolen in Yorkville by Valley Chimney Sweep. The DeKalb Daily Chronicle reports the truck was stolen from Rosati’s pizza on Route 47.

“The guys went in to get a slice of pizza, and turned around and the truck was headed down the road,” Wendy Dearborn, office manager at Valley Chimney Sweep told the Chronicle. “In broad daylight. I said, ‘I can’t believe it.’ ”
