
A 54-year-old Yorkville man was killed Monday evening when his vehicle left the roadway on Route 34 east of American Way and struck a tree, police said.
Yorkville police identified the man as Thomas Lucchesi, of the 2300 block of Hobbs Lane.
Lucchesi’s 2006 Kia Sportage struck a tree about 100 feet north of the roadway at around 6:45 p.m., police said.

While there was minimal damage to the vehicle, Lucchesi was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, Yorkville Deputy Chief Larry Hilt said.
Hilt said there were no skid marks or indications that Lucchesi attempted to brake before the crash. Police said it’s unclear whether a medical condition played a role in the incident.

There is no indication that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, Hilt said.
