According to the Beacon-News, officers from the Kendall County Sheriff’s department and Yorkville police responded to a home where a “frightened, crying child” let officers into the house, telling police someone upstairs was “breaking everything” and “hurting someone.”
When confronted by police, Brewick put up a struggle, repeatedly threatening to kill the officers, punching one deputy in the face and throwing another against a wall, Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis told the Beacon.

Weis said Brewick also kicked another officer so hard in the knee that the injury required surgery, and punched, kicked, bit and spit on several officers.
In addition to his five-year sentence, Brewick also received two years of mandatory supervised release, the Beacon reported.
