• ‘Out Of Control' Man Facing Battery Charges (journal-topics.com) — A 56-year-old Mount Prospect man faces three misdemeanor battery charges after an alleged confrontation on Holiday Lane in Des Plaines on Sept. 8, where police say he struck a volunteer and pushed and spat at officers. Authorities also discovered an outstanding Cook County warrant before taking him into custody and bringing him to court for a detention hearing. 
• Mandel Group, Cottonwood merge management platforms, part of portfolio (multifamilydive.com) — Mount Prospect–based Nicholas Family of Cos.’ construction arm, Nicholas & Associates, will keep building multifamily projects under a new strategic alliance between UrbanStreet Group and Wingspan Development. While the merger centers on large regional portfolios, it could mean more construction activity tied to Mount Prospect’s homegrown firm across Illinois, Florida, Wisconsin, and other markets.
