Northern Illinois News Assoc. awards annual journalism scholarship
2025 John Etheredge Northern Illinois High School Journalism Scholarship has been awarded to Peter Radosh of Prospect High School

The Northern Illinois News Association (NINA), a professional organization with member publications throughout the region, is pleased to announce the 2025 John Etheredge Northern Illinois High School Journalism Scholarship has been awarded to Peter Radosh, a recent graduate of Prospect High School in Mount Prospect.
“It was a year of very strong scholarship applicants,” said Cristi Kempf, NINA president. “The Northern Illinois News Association Board members were very impressed with the quality of his work and are proud to award him this year’s $1,000 scholarship.”
“Among some of our judge’s comments, it was noted that Peter’s stories weave with depth and heart and that he has passion for information and presenting it. In addition, his journalism advisor Jason Block at Prospect High School has been a supportive champion of his work.”

Radosh served as Associate Editor-in-Chief of The Prospector, the school’s newspaper. In his extensive journalism portfolio, Radosh notes that he has been involved in the school’s media program, KnightMedia, since his sophomore year, when he joined as a football color commentator. He expanded his duties to all form of media which the school offered, from podcast to print.
In obtaining the scholarship, Radosh said, “Currently, I'm planning to attend the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Although I did mostly print news in high school with some sportcasting on the side, I want to focus fully on sportscasting in college. I love journalism, and the wider field of communications, so much because it is the intersection of industries. I'm incredibly lucky and grateful to receive this scholarship, and I can't thank the NINA enough.”
