1 Hospitalized After Naperville Apartment Fire

A kitchen fire has left a unit at the apartment complex uninhabitable, fire officials said.

NAPERVILLE, IL - One person was injured during a kitchen fire at an apartment complex in Naperville Tuesday night. The Naperville Fire Department was called to the blaze in the 1900 block of Carlsbad Circle at about 8:43 p.m., according to a news release from the Naperville Fire Department. A resident at the apartment called 911 to report a fire in the kitchen of their unit.

Fire crews first on scene were able to quickly find, and extinguish, the blaze found in a small kitchen in the apartment unit, according to the news release. The one person injured in the blaze was taken to an area hospital, fire officials said.

The apartment unit has been deemed uninhabitable and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Naperville Fire Department was assisted on the scene by the Warrenville Fire Protection District and Naperville Police Department. The Plainfield Fire Protection District, and the Winfield Fire Department provided coverage for Naperville fire stations during this incident.
