NAPERVILLE, IL — A Naperville man who admitted he was a pimp has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after being convicted on 14 counts of sex trafficking he conducted throughout the Chicago area, Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Benjamin Biancofiori, 41, had been accused of beating women, withholding food and stealing birth certificates to keep women captive while forcing them into sex work, a woman had testified during his federal trial. Biancofiori contended during his sentencing hearing Thursday that the women involved had been consenting adults.

Prosecutors said Biancofiori had trafficked at least 10 women, leaving some with black eyes, bruises and facial injuries. One woman urinated herself after being badly beaten by Biancofiori, according to prosecutors.
