5 Rescued From DuPage River; Levels Dangerously High: Officials
Naperville Fire Department is warning residents to stay off DuPage River.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Dangerously high waters have led the Naperville Fire Department to warn residents to stay off the DuPage River. Officials said two rescue efforts were already underway as of Sunday afternoon.
Police say a man and his two children overturned in kayaks on the river. Nearly two dozen rescue personnel were called in to locate the family. The children were found in an outlet of the river and all three people were pulled from the water safely.
Just before 1 p.m. two teenagers were found yelling for help in the river after their raft overturned near Knock Knolls and 95th. Both teens were rescued by water rescue specialists.

Fire department officials warn that residents should not attempt to go on the river. They said, "Citizens should stay off the DuPage River during this high water period. During normal water levels, extreme caution and vigilance should be exhibited."
