
NAPERVILLE, IL — Two adults and five children escaped after a fire started in the basement of a Naperville home on Sunday night. Naperville firefighters responded to a 911 call reporting heavy smoke in the basement of a home in the 100 block of 48th Street at 8:25 p.m.
Crews arrived on the scene within four minutes of the call and confirmed that all occupants had already evacuated from the one-story home. A basement fire was extinguished within five minutes of firefighters arriving on the scene, officials said.
Additional assistance was provided by the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office, ComEd and the American Red
