7 Inpatients Hospitalized With Coronavirus At Edward Hospital

The new numbers reflect a sharp decrease compared to recent months.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Edward Hospital is treating seven inpatients with confirmed cases of coronavirus as of Tuesday, according to an email from hospital spokesperson Keith Hartenberger. This is one-third the number of coronavirus patients who were in treatment on March 9, when the hospital reported 21 inpatients with coronavirus.

The numbers also reflect a notable decrease compared to the end of 2020. As of Dec. 28, 2020, Edward Hospital was treating 57 coronavirus inpatients.

Hartenberger added that no patients died from coronavirus within the past 24 hours. In total, Edward Hospital has seen 141 deaths from coronavirus.

Four coronavirus inpatients were discharged from Edward Hospital within the past 24 hours. Since March 24, 2020, 1,873 inpatients have been treated for coronavirus and discharged from Edward Hospital.
