Sabre Girls U12 Team Captures NIHL's Prestigious Presidents' Cup Award

The Naperville based Sabre Girls U12 Hockey team captured Northern Illinois Hockey League's (NIHL) prestigious Presidents' Cup Award in the Pee Wee Girls Gold Division for the 2010-2011 hockey season. Each year after regular season competition concludes, NIHL’s Member Club Presidents formally award The President’s Cup to the top ranking team in each playing division. The Sabre Girls were presented with the Presidents' Cup Banner by NIHL's Girls' Division Director, Ruben Medina, Friday evening at Rocket Ice Arena in Bolingbrook. The undefeated Sabre girls held a commanding lead in goals scored this season, averaging 5 goals per game, while only allowing 1.44. Their overall season record was 16-0-2.

The number one seeded Sabre Girls U12 team will begin their quest for NIHL's Wolves' Cup Trophy on Sunday, February 27 at 10:20 a.m. at International Ice Arena in Romeoville. Members of the U12 team are Alyssa Arroyo, Carolyn Carpenter, Anna Cockey, Brianna Degen, Darby Edmondson, Ellie Hatton, Macey Horbach, Lanie Lobdell, Maddie Monroe, Emma Paravola, Lexi Peterson, Devin Porazinski, Sophie Regovic, Sarah Regovic, Cassidi Revere and Lilly Rutter. Head Coach for the Sabre Girls is Tim Monroe. Assistant Coaches are Jess Berg, Mike Carpenter, Bill Horbach, David Lobdell and Craig Porazinski.
