Arres Chosen As New Police Chief In Naperville
On Nov. 10, Jason Arres will be sworn in as chief of Naperville Police Department. Arres has served as interim chief since July.

NAPERVILLE, IL — After a three-month long nationwide search, Naperville has named Jason Arres as its police chief. Arres, who has served as interim chief since Robert Marshall retired in July, will be sworn in Nov. 10.
Arres was chosen following a candidate search that included a series of panel interviews with city officials, residents and members of the police department and union. The 20-year veteran's experience with the Naperville Police Department and ties to the city helped him stand out from other candidates, Naperville City Manager Doug Krieger said in a news release.
“Throughout this rigorous process, Jason clearly distinguished himself as the best candidate to lead the Naperville Police Department into the future,” Krieger said. “He has an impressive professional resume that includes involvement in or oversight of every aspect of the Naperville Police Department. He is a strong leader with outstanding communication skills, the respect of the men and women of the Naperville Police Department, and a strong existing connection to our community. We have a world-class police department here in Naperville, and I am confident that Jason Arres is the best possible leader to continue this tradition and the exceptional level of service provided by the Naperville Police Department.”

“It truly is the greatest honor of my professional career to be chosen as Naperville’s next police chief, and I look forward to carrying on the level of excellence past leaders have set for this organization,” Arres said in a statement.
He added, “This department’s success is a testament to the great men and women who work here and the fantastic partnerships we have within the community. I look forward to the opportunities and challenges this job presents, and I pledge to do everything in my power to successfully lead this department and this community safely into the future.”
