A family was displaced after a fire broke out in a multi-unit townhome building.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A six-unit townhome building was evacuated Wednesday after a resident came home and discovered smoke inside her townhouse. Officials say they arrived at the two-story complex in the 30W600 block of Fairway Dr. to find a working fire inside of the residence.

Fire crews evacuated the remaining five units in the building and searched the home to see if any other family members were present.

More than two dozen firefighters from Naperville, Winfield, Lisle, Westmont, Downers Grove, and Plainfield assisted with putting out the fire. Fire officials said it took less than 30 minutes to extinguish the flames.
