Boy Charged in Naperville School Knife Incident

Parents concerned they weren't notified. Principals say no knife was found.

The boy, who does not attend Hill, faces two misdemeanor offenses: assault and aggravated assault, according to state’s attorney spokesman Paul Darrah. He said the assault charge was issued for allegedly showing (the) knife while the aggravated assault was for bringing the knife onto school property.

Parents of students at both Hill Middle School and Brookdale Elementary, which is just a few blocks away from Hill, were concerned they were not notified about the event. An email from Hill Principal Mike Dutdut and Brookdale Principal Mary Howicz explained the situation to parents.
