A Naperville city councilwoman has announced her campaign for a Republican seat on the DuPage County Board.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville City Councilwoman Patricia “Patty” Gustin has announced her candidacy for the DuPage County Board. Gustin, a realtor-broker, will run for the Republican nomination for County Board District 5, where she has been a resident for 25 years. District 5 covers parts of Naperville, Lisle, Warrenville and Aurora, and the seat is currently held by Tonia Khouri (R-Aroura). Khouri is running for office in the Illinois 49th State Representative District.
For more than 20 years, Gustin has been serving the Naperville and Lisle communities as a member the Naperville City Council, chairwoman of the Planning and Zoning Commission and a member of the Lisle Zoning and Plan Boards. She is now running for the District 5 seat alongside incumbent Janice Marie Anderson (Naperville-R).
As councilwoman, Gustin said her focus was to focus on maintaining the values of DuPage communities. This focus, said Gustin, came from residents who expressed that “They are fed up with the national politics and negativity,” and expected more from their local leaders.
