Districts 203 & 204 To Use E-Learning Day Amid Freezing Temps
On Friday, wind chills were expected to be between 25 and 35 degrees below zero.
NAPERVILLE, IL — Students at Naperville Community Unit School District 203 and Indian Prairie School District 204 will have an e-learning day Friday, with schools closed amid freezing temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Friday will bring a high temperature of negative five degrees and wind chills as low as 35 degrees below zero.
"These decisions are never made lightly, and we consider multiple factors to prioritize the safety of our students and staff, while making every effort to have school in-person when possible," District 203 shared in a statement

They added that decisions about high school activities and athletics would be announced by 2 p.m. Friday.
District 204 wrote that "athletic events will occur as scheduled." Principals would notify students and staff regarding whether other after-school activities would be canceled.

The forecast calls for extremely low temperatures throughout the weekend.
