Petland is asking for the public's help to find the dog.

NAPERVILLE, IL — The dog thieves who stole a puppy from a Naperville Petland have been identified, but they no longer have the animal.

According to Petland, the thieves who stole Bella, a 12-week-old black and white Pomeranian, dumped the dog in the back yard of a home in Aurora. Bella has not been seen since.

Petland says the thieves are cooperating with police, but police are asking for the public’s help to find the dog.

Bella was taken from the store at around 4:21 p.m. Sunday. The dog is implanted with a microchip and on a strict vaccination schedule.

The couple asked to play with the dog, and when employees were distracted they walked out of the store.

“I was surprised at how they just took the puppy under their arm and just walked right out the front door and then started running in the parking lot,” store owner Carl Swanson told WGN.
