DuPage County Mosques Suspend Friday Prayer, Other Services
Islamic Center of Naperville and Islamic Foundation of Villa Park were just two of the organizations making the change.

VILLA PARK, IL — As concerns over coronavirus continue to increase, a number of mosques in and around DuPage County are suspending Friday prayer and other services.
Islamic Foundation of Villa Park
Islamic Foundation of Villa Park sent an email from Board of Trustees Chairman Aftab Khan Tuesday stating that Friday prayers, lectures and banquet hall events were cancelled until further notice. The five daily prayers were also suspended at the mosque until further notice, according to an update sent Tuesday night.

The March 18 Fajr prayer would be the last one before the mosque closes to daily prayer.
The closure also impacts weekend schools and Islamic Foundation School, which will be closed for the remainder of March.

Islamic Center of Naperville
Islamic Center of Naperville (ICN) has followed suit by canceling onsite programs until further notice. Classes and khatiras will eventually be offered online, according to the announcement on ICN's Facebook page.
ICN suspended jummah salat (Friday Prayer) starting March 13. They also encouraged residents to pray from home for their five daily prayers.
Classes at ICN's Al Falah Academy and Quran classes were also suspended until further notice.
