Edward-Elmhurst Health CEO elected to 2016 IHA Board of Trustees

Pam Davis, Chief Executive Officer of Edward-Elmhurst Health, has been elected to the 2016 Illinois Health and Hospital Association’s (IHA) Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees is the policymaking body for the Association, which represents more than 200 hospitals and nearly 50 health systems across Illinois.

As CEO of Edward-Elmhurst Health, which was created by the 2013 merger of Edward Hospital and Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare, Davis leads one of the larger integrated health systems in Illinois – with revenues of about $1 billion, more than 50 outpatient locations across a service area of 1.7 million residents in the west and southwest suburbs, 7,400 employees, nearly 1,900 physicians on staff and 1,700 volunteers.

Davis has been President and CEO of Edward since 1988. In those 27 years, she transformed Edward from a relatively small community hospital into a regional medical center with care that rivals that provided by Chicago’s top teaching hospitals.

Under Davis’ leadership, Edward has grown to become the Chicago area’s 9th largest hospital according to Crain’s. Edward has earned a reputation as a regional and national healthcare leader by providing advanced cardiac care at Edward Heart Hospital, state-of-the-art cancer diagnosis and treatment at Edward Cancer Center, world class stroke care through the Edward Neurosciences Institute in affiliation with the Northwestern Medicine and mental health services through Linden Oaks Behavioral Health. Edward has been a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence since 2005.

Pam holds a BA in Economics/Social Studies and an MA in Hospital and Health Services Administration from the University of Iowa.

The Illinois Health and Hospital Association is now officially in operation as an integrated, statewide organization. The former Illinois Hospital Association and former Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council recently completed their combination agreement, bringing together a combined 174 years of service to Illinois hospitals and health systems and capping a nearly 18-month due diligence and implementation process.
