Edward Foundation Golf Tournament raises $440,000

Edward-Elmhurst Health System CEO Mary Lou Mastro addresses golfers prior to the Edward Foundation's Charity Golf Tournament on July 16.

The Edward Foundation raised $440,000 at its 25th annual Charity Golf Tournament on July 16 at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club in Lemont. The Foundation, the charitable fundraising organization of Edward Hospital, was established in 1990 and has raised more than $49.9 million in its mission to support Edward Hospital’s community healthcare initiatives.

More than 300 golfers donated funds through sponsorships, donations, raffles, games and the purchase of tournament contest bracelets.

Celebrity guests included Tom Waddle, former Chicago Bear and co-host of Waddle and Silvy on ESPN 1000 Chicago, and Dionne Miller, weekend sports anchor and reporter, ABC7 Eyewitness News.

The winning team on Cog Hill’s Dubsdread course included Bill Hayes, Tyler Weber, Chris Maul and Johnny Zitko. The winning team on Cog Hill’s Course #1 and #3 included Mark Cronin, Jack Kenney, John Momper, Jr. and John Momper, Sr.

The event featured a Helicopter Ball Drop in which entrants paid for a chance to have a numbered golf ball dropped from a helicopter and land closest to the flag. The winner was Doug Johnson of Elmhurst.
