Edward Hospital presents program on Advance Directives, end-of-life legal issues
Advance Directives state a patient's healthcare wishes if they're not able to verbalize those wishes.
Edward Hospital will present “Can Your Loved Ones Verbalize Your Healthcare Wishes If You Cannot?,” a panel presentation about Advance Directives and end-of-life issues, on Wednesday, October 14, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Education Center, Rooms 303/305, on the campus of Edward Hospital, 801 S. Washington St. in Naperville.
Advance Directives, made known through an Illinois Healthcare Power of Attorney document, state a patient’s healthcare wishes if they’re not able to verbalize those wishes and designate an agent to act on the patient’s behalf.
Presenters will include Alexander Hantel, M.D., System Medical Director of Oncology Services, Edward-Elmhurst Health; Karen Mills, JD, Strohschein Law Group; Beverly Wendell, Advanced Practice Nurse, Palliative Care Program, Edward Hospital and Kathy Plakovic, Advanced Practice Nurse, Palliative Care Program, Edward Hospital.
