Edward program focuses on importance of making healthcare wishes known

Advance Directives allow for a patient's wishes to be carried out if they can't speak and designate a person to act on their behalf.

Edward Hospital is hosting “Taking Charge of Your Health: What do YOU need to know?,” a panel discussion about Advance Directives.

The program will be held Monday, April 18, 6 – 7 p.m. in the Education Center Auditorium, on the campus of Edward Hospital, 801 S. Washington St. in Naperville.

Speakers will explain the importance of Advance Directives, which are made known through a Healthcare Power of Attorney, a document that states a patient’s healthcare wishes if they’re not able to speak and designates a person to act on the patient’s behalf.
