Fire Leaves Naperville Home Uninhabitable

Fire officials say the blaze started in the basement of a home in the 2600 block of Garland Circle.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A Naperville family was forced to find temporary lodging after a fire broke out in their home Thursday afternoon. The fire started in the basement of a home in the 2600 block of Garland Circle, according to a news release from Naperville Fire Department Bureau Chief Thomas Moran.

When firefighters got to the scene around 12:18 p.m., they entered the home to find smoke coming from the basement and first floor. A hose was fed into the basement to put out the fire at its source, Moran said.

The family was not home at the time of the fire, which left the house uninhabitable. Moran said no one was injured in the blaze.
