Fire In Naperville Strip Mall Confined To Kitchen

Fire officials say the damage could have been much worse if it weren't for the kitchen's hood suppression system.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Fire officials say a blaze that broke out in a Naperville strip mall could have been worse if it hadn't been contained by a kitchen's hood suppression system. The fire started just before 10:30 a.m. in the kitchen of a business at 1163 E. Ogden Ave.

According to a news release, the fire was visible in the kitchen when firefighters got to the scene. Fire officials say it took roughly 10 minutes to get the flames under control.

No one was injured in the fire and the exact cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.
