'Food Truck Fridays' Rolls into Whalon Lake in June

Forest Preserve District of Will County sites in Naperville, New Lenox and Plainfield will host food trucks in June, July and August.

The Forest Preserve District of Will County's "Food Truck Friday" lineup kicks off June 2 at Whalon Lake preserve in Naperville with "pork centric" cuisine from The Roaming Hog.

The truck will be parked at the site from 4:30-7 p.m., and preserve patrons and food truck fans alike will be able to purchase tasty treats as they explore Whalon Lake.

A food truck will roll into the preserve every Friday in June. But that's just the beginning. After Whalon Lake in June, preserves in New Lenox and Plainfield also will get their turn hosting food trucks. One truck will be stationed in each preserve on specified Fridays from 4:30-7 p.m.

During each "Food Truck Friday," Forest Preserve staff will be on site with preserve information and items for check out, including binoculars and field guides. Scheduled activities will get you out exploring the preserves and taking in some fresh air and exercise, before or after you nosh to your heart's content on some food truck fare.
