Gangbangers In Ski Masks Shoot 16-Year-Old Aurora Boy, Cops Say
Aurora cops say 16-year-old boy and his 16-year-old friend are not involved in a gang in Thursday evening shooting.

A 16-year-old Aurora boy was shot Thursday evening as he was walking with a friend on the Near East side, Aurora police said.
Officers responded to a shots-fired call with a person down in near Farnsworth and Dearborn Avenues. There, officers discovered the boy suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
According to a police news release, a preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was walking with another 16-year-old Aurora boy when they were approached by two males wearing ski masks.

Police said the males made a “gang related statement” when one of the suspects drew out a handgun and opened fire on the youths.
The 16-year-old was hit multiple times. The other youth escaped injury when more than one bullet went through his clothing but did not penetrate his body, police said.

The suspects took off running westbound on Dearborn Avenue.
The 16-year-old boy was taken to an Aurora hospital where he underwent surgery. Police said his gunshot wounds were serious but non-life threatening.
The preliminary investigation also indicates that the 16-year-old and his friend are not involved in a gang.
Both suspects were described as male Hispanics between the ages of 17 and 20, about 5-foot-9-inches with medium builds and wearing dark clothing.
