Gunmen Rob 14-Year-Old, Lead Cops On Chase: Naperville Police
Police responded to a report of a suspicious person outside a restaurant early Monday.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Police responding to a report of a suspicious person outside a Route 59 restaurant early Monday instead found a teenage armed robbery victim. Naperville police said officers responded to a business in the 600 block of Route 59 just after 1 a.m. to find a 14-year-old boy who had just been robbed by two gunmen. Police said the suspects showed a silver and black semi-automatic handgun and stole a handbag and electronics from the teen.
The suspects fled the scene in a red vehicle with front-end damage before officers arrived, police said. A short time later, officers spotted a vehicle matching that description and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled, leading officers on a pursuit.
Police said officers quickly ended the pursuit due to the suspects' "speed and erratic driving." The red vehicle was later found unoccupied and abandoned in the 1200 block of Webster Road. Officers unsuccessfully conducted a search for the suspects, but did recover a handgun, police said.
