NAPERVILLE, IL — You might love the food, but sometimes the restaurants you visit aren’t always the cleanest places. And sometimes they are. You can know for sure with a health inspection report.
The DuPage County Health Department visited Fire It Up for a routine inspection March 18. Items out of compliance were:
- Employee drink stored on shelf with other food ingredients. Employee food and drinks must be stored separately from all food items in a designated area. Spoke with manager about proper storage of employee food and drinks. Drink discarded.
- Screen on screen door in back tore on bottom right corner. Screen door must be designed to protect outer openings from insects and rodents if outside door is open. Repair/replace screen. Spoke with manager about proper sealing practices of outer openings.
- Meat being thawed in sink in standing water. When food is thawed in water the water must be continuously circulated.
The restaurant received a demerit score of 5. Demerit scores start at zero and increase as violations are observed. This is the sum of the weight (Wt) of each item marked.
