
NAPERVILLE, IL — You might love the food, but sometimes the restaurants you visit aren’t always the cleanest places. And sometimes they are. You can know for sure with a health inspection report.
The DuPage County Health Department visited Pitaville Jan. 28 and then again Feb. 12 for a re-inspection.
Below are notes from the health department on items out of compliance from the Jan. 28 visit.

- Beef in walk in cooler at 78F with only a date label and no time label. Label all food product with time and date. Cool from 135F to 70F within 2 hours and 70F to 41F within 4 additional hours.
- Observed employee put on new gloves without washing hands. Hands must be washed for 20 seconds with soap and dried with a disposable paper towel.
- Sanitizer concentration inside sanitizer bucket and at three compartment sink at 150 ppm. Maintain solution 200-400 ppm.
- Cold water in disrepair at prep sink. All sinks must have hot and cold water.
- Observed no thermometer inside reach in cooler.
- Scoop stored inside standing water at cook line.
- Observed no test strips in facility to test sanitizer solution.
- Exterior unit of soda machine is soiled.
- Silverware stored right side up at cook line.
From that inspection the restaurant received a demerit score of 27.
The next visit Feb. 12, the health department noticed the following violation.

- Observed three chemical spray bottles unlabeled. All toxic items must be labeled with contents.
In that instance, the restaurant received a demerit score of 5. Demerit scores start at zero and increase as violations are observed. This is the sum of the weight (Wt) of each item marked.
