Holi Festival To Shower Naperville Riverwalk In Bursts Of Color
The Hindu festival, which heralds the arrival of spring, will also include Indian food, music, and items for purchase.
NAPERVILLE, IL -- The skies above the Naperville River walk will be brightened by bursts of colorful powder to mark the Holi Festival of Color on April 6. The annual Hindu celebration will feature Indian cuisine, traditional music and rock tunes, along with vendors selling souvenir items.
Holi Festival of Colors heralds the arrival of spring by encouraging participants to "throw their worries to the wind" and find joy in the moment, Simply Vedic Cultural Society wrote on the event's Facebook page.
For a $2 donation, participants get a bag of safe, non-staining powder dyed in strikingly bright colors. Set to a soundtrack of Hindi music, revelers can dance, spin, jump, and toss the colorful powders high above their heads to say goodbye to the stresses and worries of winter.
