Naperville Firefighters Save Cat After Family Gets Out Safe
Fire officials say no one was injured in the blaze.
NAPERVILLE, IL — A family safely escaped a house fire that broke out in Naperville late Thursday. Firefighters were also able to rescue the family cat during the blaze, which started in a home in the 1300 block of Middleburg just before 8:30 p.m., according to Naperville Fire Department.
When firefighters arrived, heavy fire was coming from the home's garage, but the family had safely gotten out of the home. They informed firefighters that the family cat might still be inside the home.
Fire crews used a hose to battle the flames on the garage and another hose to fight the fire in the home's interior.

Firefighters also went inside the home in an effort to find the family's cat. Search crews were unable to find the cat during the first search, but later got the cat out safely and reunited it with the family, Naperville Fire Department Division Chief Amy Scheller said in a news release.
Evan Hausmann, who lives two doors down from the home told Patch, "I just want to say that I hope the family can recover well and fast. Also I am glad they are all ok and my condolences."
