'Jeopardy!' Whiz James Holzhauer Clinches 24th Win: Watch
It's likely the reigning "Jeopardy!" champ will break the $2 million mark this week.

NAPERVILLE, IL — After Tuesday's episode of "Jeopardy!," it's clear the game show might as well just change its name to "The James Holzhauer Show." The seemingly unstoppable champ clinched his 24th consecutive win Tuesday, bringing him ever closer to breaking $2 million in total winnings.
On Tuesday's show, Naperville native Holzahuer brought home $86,905, which would be a triumph for any "Jeopardy!" player, but has become the standard for Holzhauer. With a running total of $1,867,142 in winnings, Holzhauer averages about $78,000 per game.
The only person to have won more than Holzhauer in total winnings is Ken Jennings, who won $2.5 million in a 74-game streak on "Jeopardy!" in 2004.

At Holzhauer's current daily average, he could easily more than double Jennings' total monetary winnings if he sticks around for 74 games.
Jennings recently penned a piece for Washington Post celebrating Holzhauer's winning strategy, which involves snatching up high dollar amount clues from category to category, leaving his opponents stunned and speechless.

Holzhauer's method of play has brought criticism from some "Jeopardy!" fans, but Jennings praised the professional gambler's "insane confidence." And Jennings has first-hand experience.
"I'm the only person alive who knows firsthand how difficult it is to do what Holzhauer is doing, and that’s why I'm rooting him on," Jennings wrote.
Since Holzhauer started his run on "Jeopardy!," he's broken the top several records for single-game wins. He's already started to use some of the money to help give back to libraries and museums in his hometown of Las Vegas.
Tune in to "Jeopardy!" to see if Holzhauer wins game 25 Wednesday and to find out when he will break the $2 million mark.
