Knives Found In Student's Locker In Naperville: Police

Police say they found "several knives," including a switchblade.

NAPERVILLE, IL -- A Naperville teen is facing felony charges after knives were found in their locker at Nequa Valley High School on May 3. Police say they found "several knives," including a switchblade while investigating the locker.

The student has been charged with felony disorderly conduct and misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon. The suspect is a juvenile, so their identity will remain private.

In regard to the incident, Naperville Police Chief Robert Marshall said, "This type of behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. We will continue to pursue any such case to the fullest extent of the law."

Threats to schools have appeared to increase after the Feb. 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. In the wake of this, schools across the country have also increased security measures and consequences for threats made by students.
