Kraft Macaroni and Cheese Recall Affects Millions of Boxes

Here is information about how to check your boxes and get a refund.

Millions of boxes of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese are being pulled from grocery-store shelves ”due to the possibility that some boxes may contain small pieces of metal.” Kraft announced Tuesday that about 242,000 cases of one of its most-popular foods are affected by the voluntary recall, which is about 6.5 million boxes.

So far, they have received eight reports from consumers about the metal— but no injuries have been reported, according to Kraft.

“We deeply regret this situation and apologize to any consumers we have disappointed,” Kraft said in a news release.

Boxes were shipped nationwide and to several countries, according to the company. They were packaged individually and in multi-packs.

According to Kraft, the recall affects the 7.25 oz size boxes of “original flavor” macaroni and cheese with a “best by” date between Sept. 18, 2015 through Oct. 11, 2015. More specifically, only products with a “C2” printed underneath the date are included in the recall. See the image above for an idea of where to look on any boxes you may have.
