Laundry Room Fire Displaces Family From Naperville Townhome

Fire officials say no one was injured in the blaze.

NAPERVILLE, IL -- A Naperville family has been displaced from their home after a fire broke out in the laundry room of their townhome Monday. The fire started in the 1600 block of Masters Court, according to a press release from the Naperville Fire Department.

Fire crews arrived to the scene just before 11:43 a.m. to discover that the fire was coming from a townhome unit in which no one was home. A neighbor reportedly reached the homeowners by phone to get the code for the garage to allow firefighters access to the residence.

More than two dozen firefighters engaged in an "aggressive" response to the blaze, according to the press release. The fire was put out within 30 minutes and the affected family was given temporary lodging by the American Red Cross.
