Lawsuits Filed By Families Of Naperville Men Killed At Astroworld
The families of Jake Jurinek and Franco Patino have filed wrongful death lawsuits against Live Nation, Travis Scott and other parties.

NAPERVILLE, IL —The families of Jake Jurinek, 20, and Franco Patino, 21, two Naperville men who were killed in a crowd surge at Astroworld Music Festival in Houston have filed wrongful death lawsuits against Live Nation, Travis Scott and other parties, according to attorneys for both families.
“Parents shouldn’t have to be worried that their children will be kicked, stepped on, trampled, and crushed to death at a concert,” Corboy and Demetrio partner Philip Corboy, Jr., said in a news release.
The news release continues to assert that the "defendants who were actually at the concert were fully aware of the chaos that unfolded, and didn’t stop the concert until more than 40 minutes after city officials declared it a mass casualty event."

Jurinek and Patino, who were best friends, were at Astroworld Music Festival, celebrating Jurinek's 21st birthday when they were among at least 10 people killed in a crowd rush on Nov. 5. Since the deadly incident, more than 30 lawsuits have been filed, some of which also name Live Nation and Travis Scott, who was performing during the stampede.
Also named in the lawsuits filed over Jurinek and Patino's deaths are ScoreMore Holdings, Harris County Sports and Convention Corp. and Cactus Jack Records, Travis Scott's record label.

In both lawsuits, the families are seeking over $1,000,000.
Jake Jurinek and Franco Patino were students together at Neuqua Valley High School. Jurinek was an advertising student in his junior year at Southern Illinois University. Patino was studying engineering at University of Dayton.
In a statement, Corboy said, "The loss to both these families is unimaginable. Ron Jurinek, Jake’s father, lost his wife in 2011 and Jake was their only child. Franco left behind two loving brothers and parents. Their families deserve answers."
