Lawyer Pleads Guilty To Parachute Ride Off Will Co. Courthouse

In February, the Naperville lawyer parachuted 10 stories off the courthouse and landed in the police parking lot.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A Naperville lawyer's 1 a.m. parachute ride off of the Will County Courthouse has landed him with a $600 fine and 12 months of court supervision. Adam Wirtz, 36, was arrested by Joliet police in February after he jumped from the top of the 10-story courthouse and landed in the police department's parking lot. Wirtz pleaded guilty to the incident Monday, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Will County Justice Cory Lund said at the sentencing hearing that when he read about Wirtz's jump, he thought, "That has to be the stupidest person I've ever met."

Wirtz reportedly said, "I did not mean any disrespect."
