District 203 To Vote On Capital Improvements For 2027-28 School Year (patch.com) — Naperville District 203 is preparing to vote Oct. 19 on nearly $7 million in capital projects for the 2027-28 school year, including air conditioning upgrades and playground and track improvements at several Naperville schools. The five-year plan also sketches out tens of millions more in tentative work through 2031-32, from roof and boiler replacements to theatre rigging and electrical upgrades, with strategies to control costs and seek outside funding.

Ikea replacing1 Chicagoland location with smaller format store (furnituretoday.com) — Ikea plans to close its large Bolingbrook store by late 2027 and open a smaller-format showroom in Naperville's Block 59 development, just eight miles away. The move is meant to better serve the growing Bolingbrook–Naperville corridor, keeping the brand accessible to current shoppers while bringing a new retail anchor closer to many Naperville residents.
   

3. Boy Meets World's Will Friedle Details Waking Up 'Badly Peeing Blood' Before Rushing to Hospital (usmagazine.com) — Naperville fans will get a chance to see the Boy Meets World "Pod Meets World" trio when their Book Meets World tour wraps up at Anderson's Bookshop on Friday, November 20. The visit follows Will Friedle's recent health scare with a kidney stone, which he discussed on the podcast while assuring listeners he's recovering and ready for the road.
   

4. Naperville North lineman Craig Prentice plays baseball. But his 'huge' catch against Neuqua Valley is a first. (chicagotribune.com) — Naperville North fans just watched junior lineman Craig Prentice make an unforgettable, tipped-ball catch that set up the Huskies' late go-ahead touchdown against Neuqua Valley. His 29-yard rumble helped clinch the DuPage Valley Conference title, highlighting the athleticism and big-play potential on a line that usually only gets noticed for blocking.
