Dr. Ted Burgess to Speak May 8 on Wisconsin and Iowa Driftless Area Entomology—"What Bugs Trout Eat" at Bass Pro Shops Bolingbrook Store

Dr. Ted Burgess will speak on “Wisconsin Dritfless Area Entomology” Tuesday, May 8, at 7 p.m. at the Bass Pro Shops Bolingbrook store as its featured speaker in its fly fishing program. The presentation is free and open to the public and will be in the store's second floor Conservation Room.
Entomology is the scientific study of insects. Dr. Burgess will talk about native insects and local fly patterns (both imitative and impressionistic) for the trout streams in the Driftless Area region of Southwest Wisconsin and Northeast Iowa.
Dr. Burgess is an entomology research scientist and academic advisor at Northern IL University. He studies insects of veterinary and medical importance. He has a passion for fly fishing and the insects associated with it. He has worked on projects for the USDA, US EPA, and WHO to help human well-being and animal production by controlling insects of concern.

Attendees will receive a free one-year introductory membership to Trout Unlimited.
